We are at a huge hypermarket buying stuff for a whole group of us to consume. I suggest that we all use my card to pay as I have no cash on me. We have cheese and other produce with us at the checkout counter and this is going to make dinner for 6 girls or something equivalent to that.

The store has a strict policy of closing at 10pm sharp irregardless of the status of your transaction - it unfortunately closes at the midpoint of our time at the checkout counter. Being the one paying by card, I am the last to leave the counter, and the gates of the store close on me as i abandon some of our goods and leave my card behind by accident.

Later, i return to get my card and they have only billed me for the four items bought before the strike of 10pm. I also get the four items.

We walk home in the ran, under a sheltered walkway like in singapore, underneath a HDB block...
