TEA SHOP
last night i had a dream in which i went into a Tea Shop to buy some souvenirs. i seemed to be a tourist of some sort. however, when i went into this shop, i realised it was not a tea shop, but all the items in the shop had names starting with the letter T, such as: travel trolley, teaspoons, teardrop, teddy bears, tiffin set. i could not decide on what to buy, although i felt it was imperative to obtain a souvenir to prove i had been to the Tea Shop. right at that moment my mother walked in and woke me up.
METATUBES
the other day after buying beroca vitamins at the guardian, i had another dream about shopping for health supplements. in particular, i was searching for supplements for my “metatubes” which was the imaginary dream word i had for my nerves, or things which connect the awareness of sensation between the different parts of your body. it was late at night and i felt as if i was in katong shopping center but it was located on the moon.
NORMANTON
yesterday, after reading about a newgrounds user who killed himself after having shot his drunken neighbour or something. at that point i realised that this made me involuntarily envision normanton park (where we lived at for most of my childhood), almost as if these imaginary characters were darting in and around normanton park, which was completely antithetical to what i remember it to be (square, neat, orderly, full of armed forces people like my father). i realised that the corridor between what i recall to be block 4 and block 5 is one of those recurrent imaginary superimposed places that appears a lot as a generic filler spaces for reimagined events in my head. still, i could not explain why i came to associate losers on the internet with normanton park. still thinking about it, i went and searched for humpback oak’s normanton park (which i havent heard in a long while) and then i was surprised that the first line goes:
“people in the park, strange and misguided
by the fact that there’s power, hidden in their land…”
now… i suppose there has been subconscious seepage of meaning going on.
NATIONAL DAY
i composited this for national day. we’re having a national day special at geylang happy hour on thursday.
