It’s been a year since my last entry. I want to continue writing here but I feel like I have to fill in the gaps a bit!
Well, in the last one year ago, I’ve…
- set up my own company
- worked independently to curate, design, and program touch kiosk applications
- explored working on print projects in Indesign
- gone back to london to visit old friends
- rented a car in london and drove on terrifying central london roads
- visited cornwall and hung out with my musical hero
- sorted out some unfinished business in windsor
- visited berlin, köln, and lengerich
- let my hair grow long for once
- made a new series of works with ink on paper (Maps without Buildings)
- built a small installation for mobile phones over one weekend
- built a large installation with the kinect within two weeks
- worked on a project for Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall
- worked on a project for the Van Gogh, Dali, and Titanic exhibition
- worked on illustrating maps for Lonely Planet Asia
- got a new camera so i could take better pictures
- wrote a new booklet on psychogeoforensics [psychogeoforensics.org]
- did a performance/lecture/video on psychogeoforensics
- started making music again (the one day videos/tracks are back!)
- started a documentation blog (which didn’t last too long) [documentations]
- started a design/urban blog (which also didnt last too long) [build!]
- started a preposterous music blog (which i still update, how preposterous) [basicbitchez]
- started to learn japanese and german (not very successfully, but its a start)
- became even more fluent in AS3, moved over to Flash CS5
- started learning Python
- started teaching part-time at NTU (interactive design)
- discovered that teaching students at uni level is quite agreeable with me
- started a new wiki for design patterns (for teaching purposes) [design patterns]
- finally installed Parallels and Windows so I could explore more things on Windows
- learnt how to solder better and put together simple electronics
- discovered a serious interest in cooking
- moved out of the house – and moved to Rowell Road
I guess it was a pretty good year. I love building things, and I’m making a living from doing what I love to do. I want to build big things!
HERE’S TO MORE EXCITING TIMES!
